Seeing is Believing
As I walked through the doors of the EyeView office this morning a scene greeted me of unparalleled proportions. Bells rang, lights flashed, streamers flew into the air, ladies cart-wheeled across the office floor, sparklers were lit and a banner was revealed which read “1,000,000 EyeViews per month” (which means that EyeView’s videos had reached more than 1M views in December)
This is proof that rich-media as a conversion tool has made quite an impact across a number of industries in today’s online world in a short period of time.
It’s obvious, well to me at least, that Video or rich-media is and always has been the most powerful tool to create an emotive and more memorable connection with potential customers. According to a study by comScore, consumers viewed more than 10 billion videos online in December of 2007. Ok so there is the proof that people are clicking on play buttons. I hear you say, or maybe it’s the voice of doubt in my head, that the majority must be YouTube videos or entertainment videos of the same ilk. But!!! did you know that News sites are actually the most popular, followed by weather, then humor. People are searching for information through video, information about you and your company.
And it’s not just the big guys getting in on the informative video boom, it’s becoming more accessible to small and medium sized businesses. They now have the ability to leverage the power of this medium and measure its impact on their business. A lot of blood, sweat and FLV’s to come it seems. See you at 2,000,000.
